Richard "Mack" Machowicz

MACK is best known as the compelling host and producer of Discovery Channel’s hit show FutureWeapons in addition to producing and hosting a one-hour special for the Discovery Channel called Weapons That Changed the World, both of which still continue to be seen on both the Discovery and Military Channels. Mack was also the host of Spike TV's flagship franchise, Deadliest Warrior where he also appeared as a playable character in the successful video game spin-off Deadliest Warrior: Legends.

Currently, Mack hosts Houston's new hit radio show The Mack Show which airs weekdays from 6 to 9 am CST on 700 AM KSEV - The Voice of Texas and can be heard live online at www.ksevradio.com or with the KSEV App on your smartphone.

Mack has also authored the best-selling book Unleash The Warrior Within. In 2011 the book was acknowledged by Dr. Phil on his show when he enthusiastically said to Mack and his audience, "This is an inspirational read!" The New York Daily News said about the book, "Machowicz takes you into the trenches of your passive mindset and pulls you out a self-assertive warrior." And Publishers Weekly said, "His potent prose and no-nonsense approach will motivate [readers] to begin to behave differently.”

Also in 2011 Mack co-wrote and hosted a three-part miniseries titled "Believe in Ghosts" for Ubisoft’s 2012 #1 bestselling video game “Ghost Recon: Future Soldier”. In this miniseries Mack examines elements in the game and compares them to real life operations performed by the Special Operations Community.

In 2010 Mack participated as a key contributor in the megahit miniseries America: The Story of US, which aired on The History Channel. The miniseries was produced by Nutopia and the program depicts over 400 years of American history. Mack was featured as the military and weapons expert for the series. America: The Story of US became the most watched special in network history and this landmark series in now a part of our public school curriculum nationwide. Recently Nutopia was commissioned to take on an even more ambitious miniseries for The History Channel called, Mankind: The Story of All of Us, and again Mack participated as a key contributor for this series due to his unique insight, experience and delivery.

In 2009 he filmed a cameo appearance with Gerard Butler in the film GAMER directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, the dynamic duo that created the hit film Crank. Mack was also central in the marketing blitz of the video game Red Faction: Guerilla for THQ. He co-wrote and hosted five webisodes that featured him detailing the game’s weapons, game play and also included a weekend weapon firing familiarization junket. Red Faction: Guerilla went from a relatively unheralded game to an acclaimed game that generated almost $15 million in sales within the first few weeks of its release.  He also hosted and developed a one-hour pilot for NBC with J.D. Roth of 3ball and David Broome of 25/7 called The Gift, which aired on Bravo.

His work has been featured in numerous publications including the Los Angeles Times, Men's Fitness and Black Belt Magazine as well as being showcased on Dr. Phil, ESPN, Lifetime and CNBC's "The Big Idea." Much of Mack's expertise derives from his experience as a ten-year veteran of the U.S. Navy SEALs. While a member of SEAL Team One and Two he participated in numerous tactical operations. During his service in SEAL Team Two, he was attached to the training cadre as the Leading Petty Officer of Land, Mountain and Arctic Warfare.

He has over 25 years of experience in the martial arts studying such systems as muay thai boxing, Jeet Kune Do, kickboxing, aikido, jujitsu, savate, arnis and karate. He was a certified instructor in the Naval Special Warfare Combat Fighting Instructor Course, a Naval Special Warfare Scout/Sniper and has received multiple black belts. Mack also served as a personal protection specialist for many high profile individuals within the political arena, business world and entertainment industry.

Mack is also the founder and creator of the Bukido® Training System.
