What is your daily focus, routine or ritual that you practice that starts your day off on the right foot?
Coffee!!! I get up at 4:30 AM so I have at least 30-45 min to enjoy it, relax, wake up, and think about what I want to accomplish for the day. Also, not always at the start of the day but 5 days a week my gym/training time is non-negotiable!!
How do you feel when you wear the NDCQ Gear?
I feel invincible!! Just got my first piece (sleeveless hoodie) and it’s my favorite both in its physical features as well as it’s message. I love the ribbed design, cut, and richness of the color. I also feel like I’m extra successful with my training having my go-to mantra for all things tough plastered across my chest!
What is your biggest NDCQ moment? And/Or how does Not Dead Can’t Quit motivate you?
I had been following NDCQ for a while and using it to get myself through tough spots in my training and life. I had the ultimate test in Jan 2019 when I fell during an ice storm, hitting my head, and sustaining a concussion. It was a rough road back and took almost 3 months to fully recover and NDCQ was part of my daily focus to get back to everything I love. It’s also when I received my challenge coin from one of my coaches. I keep it close by everywhere I go now.
What is your next personal target? Do you feel that having an NDCQ mindset and using the Not Dead Can’t Quit mantra will help you in achieving that target? If no, how can we improve our message?
I have some really big goals I’m pursuing this year. In my training I’m eye-ing some big skills like handstand push-ups, butterfly pull-ups, and maybe even a muscle-up!! I’m also moving up an age group in the CrossFit Open this year so excited to see how far I can push myself up on the leaderboard. NDCQ will be everything to me when I have to fail over and over in order to learn new, hard things!
