1. What is your daily focus, routine or ritual that you practice that starts your day off on the right foot?
I try to live each day with positivity. Negativity is a poison that can spread, so stay positive and it helps the day along. Sometimes you have to stop and regroup. We all do.
2. What is your biggest NDCQ moment? And/Or how does Not Dead Can’t Quit motivate you?
Oh man.... Not Dead Can't Quit is truly words to live by. I have quite a few medical issues that I deal with daily but I do NOT let them lead my life. I am very active in martial arts, and some days are harder than others but I won't stop. I'm one year closer to 40, and I love staying active. Last year I had my first two ammy kickboxing fights. The first one I was 20 lbs heavier, and I had be diagnosed with strep 3 days prior. I didn't get the win but I learned so much! The next fight was way bigger. I was 1.5 months out from being in ICU but felt great! Only problem was a migraine. Made it all 3 rounds and lost by decision. That high after was so indescribable. No matter the walls, I did not quit! Even with every excuse I showed up and never regret it. Now I'm looking forward to testing for my 2nd degree black belt in karate despite all the COVID lockdown. I WILL CONQUER!
3. What is your next personal target? Do you feel that having an NDCQ mindset and using the Not Dead Can’t Quit mantra will help you in achieving that target? If no, how can we improve our message?
My target is to remain as healthy as possible. I have one parent that has diabetes and the other with blood pressure issues. I've beat high blood pressure, and I refuse to go down the diabetic road. Those issues keep me motivated to stay active and healthy each day. Not Dead Can't Quit... I will never quit. I keep going until the choice is taken away from me. Even then... I'm just stubborn.
